SINGAPORE – A car crashed into a private residence in Singapore’s Katong neighbourhood on the morning of October 18, demolishing part of its perimeter wall and damaging property. Although the collision caused visible destruction, nobody was injured, and the driver is assisting police with their investigation.
According to The Straits Times, police received a report at approximately 11.25am about a car believed to have skidded along Tembeling Road before hitting the property. The driver, a 37-year-old man, was involved in the incident. Authorities confirmed that investigations were ongoing, although they did not immediately disclose what caused the vehicle to lose control.
The affected residence houses Liu Fu Si Fang Cai, a home-based private dining business. The collision damaged a section of the boundary wall and a swing on the property, raising concerns about the potential disruption to the business and its surroundings.
However, a spokesperson for the business told The Straits Times that the crash was shocking but that nobody was at home when it happened. The business did not expect its operations to be significantly affected, as the damage was largely confined to the wall and swing.

A contractor subsequently placed a temporary covering over the hole left in the perimeter wall. Repair work was expected to take approximately two weeks to complete, allowing the property to be restored after the unexpected impact.
Further details emerged in a report by local outlet MustShareNews, which said the vehicle had also struck a roadside electrical distribution box before crashing through the wall. The impact reportedly scattered pieces of concrete and bricks across the pavement, while the car came to rest partly inside the garden.
The damage to the electrical infrastructure also affected nearby residents. According to MustShareNews, some households experienced a power interruption lasting around two hours. SP Group reportedly sent repair workers to address the damaged equipment and restore the electricity supply.
The property owner, who was overseas at the time, was reportedly informed about the crash by a neighbour who heard a loud bang and saw the damaged wall. Relatives subsequently went to the scene after receiving the news.
Police have not announced any charges in connection with the incident. The investigation remains underway as authorities work to establish the circumstances surrounding the crash.
