TECH – XGIMI has refreshed its Z6X Pro portable projector for 2026, bringing a major brightness boost and a more efficient laser light source while keeping the compact design that made the previous model easy to position around the home. According to Gizmochina, the new projector has launched in China with an introductory price of 2,399 yuan, or about US$358.
The biggest change is the jump in brightness. The Z6X Pro 2026 reaches 1,500 CVIA lumens, equivalent to 1,600 ISO lumens, compared with 910 CVIA lumens on the previous generation. XGIMI achieves this through its QuaLas 42 RGB tri-color laser system, which the company says delivers higher efficiency and generates less heat, helping maintain brightness during longer viewing sessions.
Despite the brighter output, the projector remains focused on portability. It weighs just 1.28kg and measures 7.5cm thick, while its integrated gimbal can tilt up to 150 degrees. That allows users to project images onto a wall or even the ceiling without requiring a separate mounting system.

For visuals, the projector uses a 0.23-inch DMD chip with native 1080p resolution and a 1.2:1 throw ratio. It covers 110 per cent of the BT.2020 color space and has a native contrast ratio of 1,600:1. AI-powered light control can dynamically adjust black levels, with XGIMI claiming up to 30,000:1 dynamic contrast. HDR Vivid and MEMC motion smoothing are also supported.
The projector is powered by a MediaTek MT9660 processor with 1.5GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, running XGIMI’s GMUI 6.0 software. Its built-in NPU assists with autofocus, keystone correction, screen alignment and obstacle avoidance. A single 7W Harman Kardon speaker provides audio with Dolby Audio support.
Gamers get a dedicated mode when connecting consoles such as the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation or Xbox. Features include a 21:9 ultrawide display option, virtual crosshair and night-vision mode.
Connectivity includes HDMI with eARC, USB, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1, alongside AirPlay and DLNA support. With a lower launch price than the previous model and substantially higher brightness, the 2026 edition gives XGIMI’s compact projector lineup a noticeable technical refresh.
