INTERNATIONAL – On March 30, 2025, Israeli airstrikes targeted the Gaza Strip during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations, resulting in the deaths of at least 35 Palestinians in the southern cities of Rafah and Khan Younis, as reported by medical sources. The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) recovered the bodies of 15 medical workers in Rafah who had come under heavy Israeli fire the previous week.
Satellite images obtained by Al Jazeera’s Sanad agency revealed that at least five rescue vehicles were destroyed in the attack. The PRCS condemned the targeting of health workers as a war crime. The humanitarian situation in Gaza has deteriorated significantly, with Israel halting aid deliveries since early March. Residents are struggling to secure basic meals during the Eid festivities, highlighting the severity of the crisis. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated demands for Hamas to disarm and for its leaders to leave Gaza.

He also expressed support for U.S. President Donald Trump’s “voluntary emigration plan” for Gaza, indicating intentions to increase pressure on Hamas to release the remaining 59 captives, 35 of whom are believed to be deceased.
